Symptoms

A problem occurs in Hyperion Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) Workspace, when a new schedule is added for an SQR job and a new recurring time event is selected.

At the end in the wizard, the following error is displayed:

java.lang.NullPointerException.


NOTE: The problem occurs only when adding day/week/year events.


The SQR Production Reporting job runs correctly when:
triggered externally,
adding a custom time event,
manually executing it.

Cause

The problem has been reported in unpublished Bug 10397684.
Solution

At the time of writing, a fix has not yet been released by Development.

The following workaround exists:
In Workspace click Navigate-Schedule-Manage Events.

Right-click anywhere and click Add and select "Public Recurring Event" and then create the new event there.

After creating this event, add a schedule to the SQR job and on the screen where you define the event, select "Schedule this job using an existing event" and in the drop-down list select the event name already created in step (2).

Then click next...next until the steps of the wizard are completed.
