ODI 11.1.1.5 Installation Conflict With EPM 11.1.2.1 Weblogic Version

Goal

When attempting to install ODI 11.1.1.5  Console on a WLS Server version 10.1.3.4.0 which was installed for EPM version 11.1.2.1, the following error message is signaled :
NST-07286: Specified Oracle Middleware home location does not have version 10.3.5.0 of WebLogic server. If the version is incorrect then configuring with the Weblogic server will  fail.  

Provide  a Oracle Middleware home location which contains  WebLogic server with  version 10.3.5.0 or upgrade the Weblogic server to  10.3.5.0 and restart the instal.

This indicates that the version of WLS is incompatible with ODI 11.1.1.5.
This is confirmed by consulting the ODI Certification Matrix which indicates that WLS version is 10.1.3.5.0 is required.
Is it possible then to upgrade EPM 11.1.2.1 WLS server to at least 10.1.3.5.0 so that the WLS server is compatible with ODI 11.1.1.5 ?

Will there be any negative impacts on EPM11.1.2.1 if we do this ?

Furthermore, is ODI 11.1.1.5 certified with EPM 11.1.2.1 ?

Solution

Checking the EPM certification matrix (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/bi-foundation/oracle-hyperion-epm-system-certific-131801.xls 'Web and Application Servers' tab) for app server compatibility we have Oracle WebLogic Server 11gR1 (10.3.4) with EPM 11.1.2.1 and Oracle WebLogic Server 11gR1 (10.3.5 and 10.3.6) 11.1.2.2 (which has not been released yet).

This means that Weblogic cannot be upgraded to 10.1.3.5.5 and remain in a supported situation with the current version of Hyperion products installed as it is not listed as being compatible and will not have been tested with these versions of WebLogic Servre by development.
A future release of Hyperion 11.1.2.2 will be compatible with WLS 10.1.3.5 or 10.1.3.6 according to the certification matrix. Your solutions are therefore the following alternative approaches :

1.Wait for version EPM 11.1.2.2 and then upgrade to the appropriate version of WLS server before installing ODI 11.1.1.5 Console OR

2. Go back to a previous version of ODI which is compatible with WLS 10.1.3.4
