Is ERPi 11.1.2.1 Certified With ODI 10.1.3.5?
Applies to:
Oracle Data Integrator - Version 10.1.3.5.0 to 10.1.3.6.10
Information in this document applies to any platform.
Goal
According to the certification matrix for Oracle Enterprise Performance Management System (EPM) 11.1.2.1 ("11.1.2.1 Release Compatibility" worksheet accessible at: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/bi-foundation/oracle-hyperion-epm-system-certific-131801.xls), the Hyperion Enterprise Resource Planning Integrator (ERPi) 11.1.2.1 module is certified with Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) 10.1.3.6 and above.
Nevertheless, only the ODI 10.1.3.5 component can be downloaded from the Oracle Software Delivery Cloud (at http://edelivery.oracle.com/).
Is ERPi 11.1.2.1 certified with ODI 10.1.3.5?
Solution
At first, it is important to mention that:
ODI 10.1.3.5.0 is a full release. As such, it can indeed be downloaded from the Oracle Software Delivery Cloud (at http://edelivery.oracle.com/)
ODI 10.1.3.6.0 is a patch to be applied on top of an ODI 10.1.3.5.0 installation. As such, it can be downloaded directly from the MyOracle Support portal.
ODI 10.1.3.5.x is not certified with ERPi 11.1.2.1.
ODI 10.1.3.6.x is certified with ERPi 11.1.2.1.
ODI 11.1.1.5.0 is only certified with ERPI 11.1.2.1.501 and up.
Thus, the full process for ensuring that an ODI 10.1.3.6 supported configuration is being set up would be to:
Install ODI 10.1.3.5.0
Upgrade to ODI 10.1.3.6.0 (minimum).
As patches are cumulative, it would be advisable to upgrade directly from ODI 10.1.3.5.0 to ODI 10.1.3.6.10, which would allow you to benefit from the latest enhancements and fixes.
Detailed information on such an upgrade process (along with the needed patch number) can be found in Note 1432478.1.
Please omit sections relating to the bit-set change (32-bit vs. 64-bit) if it does not apply to your scenario.
As this is a new installation of ODI, there are two ways to reach the release 10.1.3.6.10:
Option 1:
Install ODI 10.1.3.5.0
Set up the ODI Repositories
Ensure that ODI works as expected
Upgrade to the release 10.1.3.6.10. As part of the upgrade process, it will be necessary to upgrade the Repositories.
Option 2:
Install ODI 10.1.3.5.0
Upgrade to the release 10.1.3.6.10
Set up the ODI Repositories. This approach implies that no upgrade of the Repositories is needed as these latter will get created in the release 10.1.3.6.10 directly.
